• Five-star reputation across Google and Angi
• Serving NE Illinois & SE Wisconsin since 1988
• Detailed roof inspections with clear recommendations

After hail or high winds, we check for shingle bruising, lifted edges, flashing separation, and ventilation issues. If an insurance claim is appropriate, we can help you understand what to expect.

Targeted repairs often extend roof life by years. We’ll tell you honestly when a repair makes sense — and when replacement is the smarter long-term investment.

Roof performance depends on water management. We offer gutter and downspout work, soffit/fascia repairs, and exterior services that keep water moving away from the home.

Our free roof inspection includes an evaluation of roof condition, flashing and penetrations, ventilation review, weak-point identification, projected lifespan, and repair vs. replacement options with clear pricing.

Roof replacement is more than shingles — it’s ventilation, underlayment, flashing, and moisture control working together. We evaluate the full roofing system before recommending replacement so you’re investing in a roof that performs.

From premium shingles to specialty materials, we’ll explain pros/cons and warranty options so you can make a decision that fits your home.

"The owner is a pleasure to work with. He is very professional and explains everything that will be done. The crew went around the house and moved anything away so nothing was damaged. Afterward they cleaned up as if they were never there. All nails were picked up, everything was put back in place. A couple of months later we had a leak in our bedroom ceiling. David came out right away, found the problem had nothing to do with our new roof, it was a vent pipe that opened up, and fixed the issue for us even though it was not related to our roof. We highly recommend AAA Better Roofing."

"Dave Lancaster and his company's crew were the most professional construction crew I have had at my house! Dave worked with me and my insurance company, even taking time to meet directly with the adjusters on my behalf. My roof was completely torn off and replaced in two days. The speed did not spare excellence of work. Dave has a very large crew. The workers were so nice that they even helped Grandma in with her groceries. Everything was meticulously cleaned up at the end of each day. The roof is gorgeous and sound! Thank you Dave!"

"Working with AAA Better Roof and specifically Dave was a great experience. Dave was incredibly knowledgeable, advising me on things to consider with my roof replacement that I hadn't previously thought of and other contractors did not address. He was easy to work with, a straightforward communicator, competitively priced and honest. The work itself was completed without issue and Dave was quick to follow-up after the fact. I've recommended him to neighbors and I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a good quality contractor for their projects."

"I received bids from 4 companies. AAA Better Roof's owner, David Lancaster, personally interacted with me throughout the entire process and could not have been more accessible or easy to work with. He addressed all of my questions and concerns promptly. I was impressed with the comprehensiveness of the inspection and detailed proposal. The quality and attention to detail of their work far exceeded my expectations and the roof looks fantastic! I highly recommend AAA Better Roof. David and his crew are responsive, professional and in my opinion, without equal in the area."

"Done in 1 day. A whole team (approx 12 people) came in with dumpster, removed both layers of roofing, added new roof vents and properly vented the 2 bathroom exhaust fans, checked and cleaned gutters. Very pleased that the noise, mess, and dumpster were there and gone in less than 12 hours. Owner came back to review the work performed by his crew. Very pleased with the work done."

"If you are looking for an honest, dependable, professional roofing company, then AAA Better Roof is the one to choose. Dave, the owner, came to discuss the contract, not some pushy sales person who I met with from other companies. The crew was on time, efficient, courteous, and left my property pristine."

"Excellent work. Owner inspected roof, was very professional. They did exactly what they said they would do. No hidden surprises. Finished in a day and a half. Very pleased with product and work. I would hire them again."

"Dave and his crew are exactly what you want from a roofing company. After a huge hail storm we had him come out and identify the damage. He met with the insurance rep and helped with our claim. He gave us a quote, we set a date, they worked three days straight until the job was finished. None of this jumping from job to job and dragging the project out. They replaced the roof, some decking, skylights, gutters, downspouts and added ridge vents. He made it a very simple process."

"I have a very large cedar shingle roof. I requested estimates to repair the roof from 5 roof contractors. One (that I previously used and was happy with) did not show up and never called. Three wanted to only replace the roof for a steep price. Dave Lancaster was willing to replace the bad shingles and do the repairs I needed. I think he did a quality job and would recommend him to others. He was also the only one that actually went on the roof to check it out before he gave me an estimate."

"We were very pleased with all aspects of the re-roof job from bid process to completion. Dave was very thorough and patient in answering questions so we were able to compare bids from 4 contractors which were all written and outlined differently. AAA Better Roof brought in a large crew. The entire crew was courteous, worked long days, and were meticulous in cleanup. Special care was taken to ensure landscaping was not damaged in the process. We highly recommend AAA for their quality workmanship."

"I could not be happier with getting our roof replaced by AAA Better Roof. We were trying to sell our house when we found out we needed to replace our roof due to defective shingles and poor installation. Dave was able to squeeze us in the schedule right away since we were in a rush. When I got home in the evening the only evidence they had been there was our nice, new roof. The whole project went smoothly and I was very impressed by the quality of work and the professional, efficient manner in which it was completed. I highly recommend AAA Better Roof."

"I hired AAA Better Roof to make repairs and upgrades prior to listing my home for sale. The crew showed up on time. They were courteous and delivered quality work. As a result, my buyer's inspector found no issues with the roof."

"We are very happy with the service provided by this company. They held their price to the estimate, no extras. There was an extra, Dave the owner went the extra mile to do some extra work at no additional cost. The whole house was done, complete tear off to the last shingle all in one day. The clean up job was immaculate. I would recommend AAA to anybody, thanks Dave."

"Your proposal on costs and timing were spot on. You delivered within budget and on time. I am pleased with the results and workmanship. You upgraded the old roof venting and exhausts as well as the furnace chimney which gives the house a more contemporary look. Additionally, you resolved a long standing issue with venting in the soffits and roof line. This resolution has resulted in a marked improvement in the cooling of the house. Lastly, I noted that you redesigned the gutter flow to decrease the amount of downspouts while at the same time directed the outflow to drain more efficiently away from the house."

"I was told this was the biggest single home roofing job due to the numerous elevations of my roofline. There were at least 14 workers here daily for over one week. I never saw such professionalism and the owner Dave was onsite at least three times a day. At the end of each day, they completely cleaned the debris and made it livable for us. The roof is gorgeous and I highly highly recommend them for anyone who wants the best possible quality and service there is."

"AAA Better Roof did an outstanding job from estimate to completion. During the project, the team arrived early and stayed late to complete the project before rain moved in to the area. The roof looks and performs great."

"I had a new roof done by AAA Better Roof. I highly recommend this company. Their work was done in one day including complete cleanup. The crew was polite and professional. Dave Lancaster worked with me in choosing the right shingle, date of the work, and a payment schedule. When I needed to change the work day, he was flexible and understanding. Dave followed up to make sure I was satisfied and pleased with the roof. I am 100% pleased! This is a good company and I appreciated Dave's integrity."

"Cleanup was excellent with people circling the house several times during the day gathering debris and using a magnetic sweeper. They did not cause any trouble for my neighbors, no loud music, no blocking driveways or sidewalks. Workers arrived at the agreed upon time and day; they ended when predicted, in one day. There were no unexpected costs. Due to the vents they added, my house actually has better ventilation then it did before. The house has survived several storms since no problems at all."

"Performed a complete roof replacement and a side-door installation. Very happy, highly recommend."

"AAA made replacing the roof and gutters "a piece of cake." The estimate was timely. Dave Lancaster explained very clearly what he recommended and why. He gave me choices and prices. After I selected AAA, a large crew arrived exactly when expected and performed the work quickly, professionally and exceeding expectations. The crew was careful not to damage landscaping and cleaned extremely well, making sure every scrap of old roof or other materials was gone. I was very pleased with AAA."

"Our experience with AAA Better Roof and David Lancaster was exceptional. They explained every step of the process, from selecting materials to timeline and cost. Clear communication gave us peace of mind throughout the project. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, demonstrated a high level of professionalism and craftsmanship, and protected our property during work. When the job was complete, they left everything spotless – no debris, no nails. AAA Better Roof also replaced clapboards, painted them to match, and replaced gutters. We couldn’t be happier with the quality and service we received, and we highly recommend AAA Better Roof to anyone."

"They were prompt, responsive, and did a wonderful job. They were also quick; they provided me with an estimate for the insulation and were then able to start right away. They offered recommendations and were helpful. The experience was great all around, and I would recommend them. With both the roofing job and insulation job, they left the site clean and picked up everything; no damage was done to the landscaping or other property."
