Composite Roofs

Commonly called "asphalt shingles", today's composite shingle is actually a blend of asphalt, fiberglass, organic materials, and ceramic granules. Some include recycled content. Composite shingles are the most popular type of residential roofing material.

Composite shingles are easy to maintain and repair. They are available in a wide variety of colors and styles including three-tab, architectural, and dimensional. Dimensional shingles have raised layers that give the roof depth and character.

Composite shingles have manufacturer warranties from 15-50+ years.

Did You Know...
The ceramic granules add color and character to composite shingles, but their primary purpose is to protect the shingle from UV rays. The sun's UV rays are very damaging to asphalt and cause it to deteriorate prematurely. This is the same reason that gravel is used on built-up flat roofs.
